Message to Iran, back channel or felony?

I am not sure how many of us have been keeping up with it, but recently, a letter was sent from 47 Republican members of the Senate to Iran. This letter said that Iran should not make a nuclear deal with the United States because any deal that President Obama makes with Iran will not be upheld once he leaves office.
What do you all make of this? The last time something like this happened, Richard Nixon sabotaged the Vietnam peace talks and became president. Many people believe this is a violation of the Logan Act, which forbids any US citizen without proper authority from directly influencing negotiations between the U.S. and any foreign country. Violating the Logan Act is a felony.
Many times the Logan Act has been referenced, but this time, 47 people have directly attempted to sabotage negotiations between the U.S. and Iran.

I have tweeted to the White House Press Secretary, as well as to Barrack Obama, explaining just how important I believe the preservation of the highest seat of elected office is, and what those senators did was in DIRECT VIOLATION of the Logan Act. I believe the undermining our own legal Governing channels by elected officials- in front of the whole world- is a very dangerous message to be sending in general, and their should be something done about it. I have tweeted to Kelly Ayotte also asking for her comments, as to why she would ever partake in such scandalous objectives, while in Washington on MY behalf, as a citizen of NH- no response.

For My believe I think the whole concept of inviting the Prime Minister of Israel to the congress without the White House agreement was political even if Netanyahu dined it. The Prime Minister knew that Obama Administration was working on negotiation with Iran, but it seem like he did not want America to make any negotiation with Iran. Also he did not give out any alternative about what America should do rather than not giving Iran change to have nuclear program. So, I think the all process of our 47 senators to signed and send a latter to Iran was influence by Netanyahu.

Though I do not agree with what the senators did, I think if Obama condemned it as treason or a violation of the Logan act that would be even more wrong. From aim.org: "According to Pajamas Media columnist Michael Ledeen, in 2008, a Democratic senator sent a personal emissary to Tehran encouraging the mullahs not to sign an agreement with the outgoing Bush Administration as negotiations would take on a much friendlier tone following President Bush’s departure from office.

That senator was a presidential candidate at the time. His name was Barack Obama." So if the GOP senators are prosecuted, Obama should be too.

This is a very interesting point. It truly shows that the congress is in power in the United States. I don't agree with how the senators went about it. But I agree that it should have been done.
