Political Favoritism
The recent bombing of Syria has left a lot of United States citizens wondering if this was the right move for President Trump to take. Democrats and Republicans the same have spoken out to voice their opinions of how the event was handled. Democrats obviously have a lower approval percentage, but what is more definitive is the fact that in 2013, only 22 percent of Republicans supported Obama's use of chemical weapons against Assad, but now 86 percent support Donald Trump. Having faith in the brilliant minds that our federal government keeps in influential positions, I want to say that this move was a good idea. Sadly after this was posted they found out that where they had bombed hadn't sent any nuclear weapons. I think the strategic move by the federal government was given a bad name because President Trump had ordered it. President Obama also ordered several drone strikes on civilian filled areas which I feel was not as planned out. Personal political bias may sway my support one way or the other but I trust that the federal government is doing their homework in order to protect the lives of innocent people around the globe.
I do agree that there is political favoritism, especially regarding the recent Syrian situation. I also believe that there will always be political favoritism with any president regarding any major decision they make, it is our political system.
