Due to
these issues faced by the voters some turned to the law to try and work out the
issues and retain their voter eligibility for the primary that was up
and coming but due to a judge’s denial to take the issue at
the preferred time, many lost the opportunity to cast their vote
at Tuesday’s primary. Some of the other issues faced came due to the
strictness of New York law, from voters not being eligible to vote in a
different party due to the deadline being Oct. of the previous year 2015, to
individuals receiving postcards that weren't fully
informative of all the upcoming elections.
so in
conclusion there're a lot of issues being faced by New York voters within
that area, they have very limited leeway when it comes to
the strictness of their laws, and the system that is supposed to be
running things seems to be barely holding itself together. so like the mayor
pointed out in this article at the moment they should let the central board of
election staff control that list while they work on fixing the issues within
their own system so that these issues or new ones don't occur in the future
like possibly election time.

I thought the article interesting, and as I read it, it struck me that the state of New York was having these same problems during the last Presidential election cycle. That the voter hotline was jammed and received four time the amount of calls as in 2012. This means that there have been they had been aware of the voter problems last time and they just didn’t fix them. Then again Tammany Hall has had its fair share of corruption and voter fraud in the past. Some things don’t change.
This blog was not only appealing, but very informational as well. I am from New York (not Brooklyn) but hearing what a mess they are in regards to voting polls, and how some did not even open is simply crazy. Seven percent of people, as you mentioned, are being pushed towards not being allowed to vote and that seven percent, or 120,000 could make such a large difference within the elections. Something needs to be done in regards to this situation and quickly and I hope that the mayor successfully has the central board of election staff control the list and that this will help.
Literally, talk about a mess. We put so much trust into our federal and state government and they are making mistakes like this. I wouldn't say this has anything to do with funding or outside sources. Almost directly seems to be caused by the incompetence of the New York Pollers. The fact that there isn't national outrage over 7% of Democratic voters being in jeopardy of voting is ridiculous
